Who We Are: 4ms Company consists of a core group of like minded individuals committed to bringing you the best product.
And a special thanks to all of our contracted and part-time employees not pictured below, thank you!
Dan Green
Owner, Engineer, Designer

Dan is a lover of good puns, bicycling to work, light roasts and dark stouts, the music of city sounds, and above all, his wife Kendra, son Eli, and their Norwegian Elkhound. He's currently trying to learn fine woodworking from youtube videos, Japanese from children's cartoons, and quantum field theory from books written with the dry humor of physicists.

Dan started creating electronic devices that made never-heard-before sounds in 1996 and founded 4ms Company in 2002. He's taught Modular Synthesis at Portland Community College, and electronics theory and DIY kit-building workshops around the world.
Jeannot Quenson
Visual Design, Marketing

While studying under new media professors at the University of Texas, Jeannot Quenson gained experience in sound synthesis through installation and video art. Utilizing sensors and physical objects with MaxMSP/Jitter, he was exposed to the joys of combing art and technology. Tinkering away circuit bending, and jamming on drum machines, he developed a love for everything hardware.
Zach D'Agostino
Circuit Design, Prototyping, Repair

Hailing from the east coast, Zach moved to Portland in 2013 and has worked in the audio electronics field, designing, repairing, and building electronic instruments since 2014. Zach holds an AAS in Biomedical Engineering Technology from Portland Community College (2023) and a BA in Sound Design from Emerson College (2011). In 2022, Zach began working with Engineering World Health, helping students to repair and maintain medical equipment in hospitals throughout Guatemala. Zach enjoys studying Spanish, looking at maps, history, D&D, and playing drums in the band Sea Moss.
Thomas Fang
Sales, Inventory Manager, Customer Support, Repairs, Artist Relations

Thomas began experimenting with sound and video art in 2001 and co-founded the Artificial Music Machine record label. Since then, he has performed solo and as part of Inversion Effect and the Bradley Telcom Ensemble. Mr. Fang was also conductor of the Furby Youth Choir, a small army of modified toys which terrorized audiences at festivals around the country. He joined the 4ms team in 2010, and has concurrently worked for other synth manufacturers including LZX, Darkplace, Synthrotek, and Bleep Labs. He has also been a curator for Church of the Friendly Ghost and volunteer coordinator for Austin Museum of Digital Art, and has taught synthesis and circuit bending workshops for the Modern Aural Sculpture Symposium South, New Media Art and Sound Summit, and Future Music Summit. He is also Executive Director of Synth Library Portland.
Kira Sassano
Shipping, Social Media

Kira (she/they) is a queer musician and fiber artist. She has worked at 4ms since 2021. She has been performing, recording and releasing music under the moniker Cave Cricket since 2011. She also plays in a few other projects in Portland like Sandy Pylos, Half Shadow and The Enchanted. When not shipping orders at 4ms, Kira works on her business, selling fiber art in her Fiber Being Designs shop on Etsy. She loves knitting, Italian food, gaming, gardening, effects pedals and being cozy at home with her partner and their cats Monkberry and Mr. Todd.
Payne Gibson
Quality Technician, Builder

Payne is originally from Greenville, South Carolina. After completing a BFA in Metalsmithing and Sculpture, they moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2015. Since then, they have worked at world-renowned manufacturing companies, ranging from fine art production to glassmaking, and currently, eurorack modules. They love being part of the behind-the-scenes production that helps deliver products to creative individuals worldwide. In their free time, they work on their own art and go on many walks and adventures with their pup, Beans.
Cantrell Hepner
Software Developer, Design

Cantrell’s interest in software development stems from a passion for making music. Since childhood, he has been fascinated by devices and how they work, always taking apart electronics and discovering what makes them beep and blink. Whether designing sound or designing software, Cantrell approaches problem-solving with practicality and creativity. He is driven to strike a balance between complexity and simplicity in his software design in order to help create intuitive equipment for fellow electronic musicians.
Freyja
Office Doggo

Freyja is the best. She likes long walks, sleeping in the middle of the floor, leaning against walls, and general prancing about. She has been with 4ms for many years and always brings joy in to the office.
